Fields of Mistria Essence Stone – Crafting, Uses, and How to Obtain

Overview

Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria are consumable items used to charge magical tools, most notably the Water Sprite Statue (the game's sprinkler system) and the Animal Sprite Statue. They are crafted at the Stone Refinery and come in five tiers: Tiny, Small, Medium, Large, and Giant. Larger stones last longer before needing replacement.

Essence Stones can also be consumed directly to restore Essence — the blue orbs you collect while mining, fishing, and completing activities throughout the game.

How to Obtain

Crafting at the Stone Refinery

All Essence Stones are crafted at the Stone Refinery, a building unlocked through the Stone Refinery Quest. This quest becomes available once your Town Rank reaches Sapphire level 55. Completing the quest requires:

• 200 Wood
• 500 Stone

Once the refinery is built, you can craft Refined Stone and Essence Stones. The crafting time for a Large Essence Stone is 20 minutes, which can be reduced to 10 minutes with the Refined Rockery perk.

Essence Stones can also be found in:

• Treasure Chests in The Mines
• Abyssal Chests (requires the Abyssal Ascendence skill, which gives a chance to fish up Abyssal Chests containing clothing or Essence Stones)

Uses

Charging Magic Tools

The primary use of Essence Stones is to charge magical tools. The most notable example is the Water Sprite Statue, which automatically waters crops within a two-tile radius (a 5×5 area when placed centrally). The statue consumes one Essence Stone and waters crops daily until the stone's duration expires.

To use an Essence Stone with a Water Sprite Statue:

1. Place the statue on your farm.
2. Add an Essence Stone to it.
3. The statue waters crops automatically each day until the stone runs out.

Essence Restoration

Essence Stones can be consumed directly to restore Essence. A Large Essence Stone restores 100 Essence when consumed.

Gifting

Essence Stones can be given as gifts to NPCs, though the collected sources do not specify which characters favor them.

Unlocking the Water Sprite Statue

The Water Sprite Statue recipe is obtained from a golden chest in the Beach Cave, located to the right of the beach near the lighthouse. To access it:

1. Learn the Dragon's Breath fire spell by breaking the Fire Seal on level 60 of the Mines.
2. Swim from the lighthouse to the Beach Cave.
3. Use Dragon's Breath to burn the blockage at the cave entrance.
4. Open the golden chest inside to receive a Water Sprite Statue, an Essence Stone, gold, and the crafting recipe.

To craft additional Water Sprite Statues, you need:

• 10 Refined Stone
• 50 Essence
• 3 Ash Mushrooms
• Crafting Level 20
