Fields of Mistria Legendary Fish: Complete Catch Guide

Catching all legendary fish in Fields of Mistria requires reaching Fishing level 30, unlocking the Legendary skill, and fishing in the correct body of water during the right season and weather. There are four legendary fish — one per season — and each can only be caught once per save file. Completing the Museum's Fish Wing requires donating each one, so prioritize donations over selling or gifting.

How to Catch Legendary Fish

Step 1: Unlock the Legendary Skill

Reach Fishing level 30, then approach Caldarus' Statue on your farm. Trade 80 Essence to unlock the Legendary skill. This skill enables legendary fish to appear when season and weather conditions align.

Step 2: Wait for the Weather Message

When the correct weather conditions occur, you will receive a message before the day begins:

"A legendary fish is nearby..."

This message includes a silhouette of the legendary fish available that day. This is your only indicator — the game will not tell you where to fish.

Step 3: Go to the Correct Location

Each legendary fish spawns in a specific type of water. Use the table below to confirm where to fish:

Community report: Some players report difficulty catching the autumn fish after multiple in-game days of trying. If you are struggling, confirm you are fishing in a river (not a pond) and that the weather matches the required condition.

Step 4: Fish Normally

Cast your line into the water and wait for a bite. Legendary fish behave like other fish — look for shadows in the water and aim close to them. Wait for the "!" exclamation point above your bobber before reeling in. Reeling in too early causes the fish to swim away.

Step 5: Donate to the Museum

As of v0.12.0, only one of each legendary fish can be caught per save file. If you want to complete the Museum, donate the fish to the Fish Wing immediately. Legendary fish do not sell for much Tesserae and are not popular gifts, so there is little reason to keep them.

• Bait: High-quality bait from the local tackle shop can help attract fish faster.

• Consider the Lucky Haul skill: At level 15, catching a fish sometimes drops double the amount. This accelerates leveling and resource accumulation.
• Plan around the season: Each legendary fish is only available one season per year. If you miss a fish, you must wait until that season returns.
• Check the silhouette carefully: The silhouette in the morning message tells you which fish is available. If you already caught that fish, you can skip fishing that day.
